Cardi B wins big, Eminem takes on Trump at 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards

Courtesy of BETThe BET 2017 Hip Hop Awards aired Tuesday night from Miami. It was a big night for Cardi B who took home five awards — including Single of the Year for “Bodak Yellow,” Best New Hip-Hop Artist, and Best Mixtape for Gangsta B**** Music Vol. 2.

It was also a good night for Kendrick Lamar whose DAMN. won album of the year and who took home Video of the Year honors for “HUMBLE.,” among his three awards.

Host DJ Khaled also won three times including taking home DJ of the Year and MVP of the Year honors.

But the night’s big newsmaker was Eminem‘s freestyle cypher ripping President Donald Trump.

In his four-minute rant, Em went after Trump on immigration, corruption, white supremacy, the NFL, gun control, environmental disasters, hypocrisy and more.

Eminem packed his rap with powerful lyrics, “But this is his form of distraction/Plus, he gets an enormous reaction/When he attacks the NFL so we focus on that/Instead of talking Puerto Rico or gun reform for Nevada/All these horrible tragedies and he’s bored and would rather/Cause a Twitter storm with the Packers…”

Before closing, Em drew a line in the sand with his fans, “And any fan of mine who’s a supporter of his/I’m drawing, in the sand, a line/You’re either for or against/And if you can’t decide who you like more and you’re split/On who you should stand beside/I’ll do it for you with this: F*** you!/The rest of America stand up/We love our military, and we love our country/But we f****** hate Trump!”
