Bobbi Kristina Brown’s ex Nick Gordon arrested for domestic violence; Bobby Brown issues statement

Jason LaVeris/FilmMagicNick Gordon was arrested Saturday in Sanford, Florida, on a domestic violence charge. Gordon famously dated Bobbi Kristina Brown, the late daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown.

According to The Blast, Gordon’s current girlfriend Laura Leal told police that he “struck her in the right side of her cheek area several times,” while she was driving him home from a local bar, adding he threatened to make her “wreck the vehicle.” Cops also reportedly observed a “visible injury to include slightly swollen bottom lip with dried blood.”

Gordon, who says both he and Leah had been drinking, claims she “ripped his shirt and threw a bottle at him” and “attacked him for no reason,” according to police. He reportedly suffered a cut on his thumb.

In a statement obtained by ABC News, Bobby Brown says, “Domestic violence killed my daughter and on March, 4 2018, the Bobbi Kristina Brown Serenity House held our first event to strike back at domestic violence.”

He adds, “I personally would like to extend my hand to Ms. Leal and offer her services through our organization, BobbiKristinaSerenityHouse.org. I do not want to see any more families destroyed at the hands of domestic violence and I do not want any more women to suffer like my daughter did. We are here to assist and we hope to hear from Ms. Leal.”

Leal refused to press charges against Gordon or file any domestic violence paperwork, according to the entertainment website, but based on the evidence at the scene, he was arrested for battery domestic violence.

Gordon was released on $500 bond and is due back in court on April 6.

Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her Alpharetta, Georgia home in 2015. She was put into a medically induced coma and died 6 months later. Gordon was later found liable in an unlawful death suit filed by Bobbi Kristina’s family. He was never criminally charged, and has denied any wrongdoing.
