Air Max Day

Nike’s Air Max Day  is an annual celebration of Air Max that occurs on March 26th, which is the day the Air Max 1 first released back in 1987. Started in 2014, Air Max Day is meant to be a celebration of all-things Air Max, with several new styles and models being revealed.

The Air Max 1 was conceptualized by the legendary Tinker Hatfield. It was the first shoe to have a visible Air unit on the midsole, making it a pioneer of the visible cushioning setup and one of the most important innovations for Nike, which continues to make new Air Max shoes decades later.

Every year since the introduction of Air Max Day in 2014, sneaker heads have not only celebrated the holiday by breaking out their personal favorite Air Max styles from their collection but also by participating in Nike’s high-heat launches prepared around and during March 26.

Today I’m wearing Sean Wotherspoon’s Nike Air Max 1/97, is this the best Air Max Day release of all time?
