Not kickin’ it in the studio: Kandi Burruss confirms she won’t appear on new Xscape album

DeWayne Rogers/Monami EntertainmentWith their new reality show and their upcoming tour, Xscape has given fans a lot to look forward to this year.

But, as confirmed on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, all the members of the celebrated R&B group won’t be reuniting in the studio.

After WWHL host Andy Cohen asked members KandiTinyLaTocha and Tamika when they were planning to make new music, Kandi said, while pointing to her group mates, “Well, they are doing the music.”

When Andy replied, “The three of them are,” Kandi simply answered, “Yes.”

“Is it under the name Xscape?” Andy asked, to which Kandi then replied, “I don’t know.”

“Well, we are Xscape,” said Tiny.

As for why Kandi’s vocals won’t be on the latest Xscape disc, the singer tells viewers that she’s headed to Broadway “and some other things.”

You can watch the awkward exchange on YouTube.

Xscape’s 22-date The Great Xscape Tour kicks off November 22 in Richmond, Virginia and their new reality series, Xscape: Still Kickin’ It, airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
