R. Kelly accused of threatening a woman who alleges he gave her an STD

Faith Rodgers/Courtesy of LifetimeOne of R. Kelly‘s accusers, Faith Rodgers, is now claiming that the R&B crooner is attempting to retaliate after she filed a lawsuit claiming he knowingly infected her with a STD last year.

In a press conference that was live-streamed on Monday, Rodgers and her attorney, Gloria Allred, revealed to reporters that after the suit was filed Kelly, sent Rodgers a “threatening” letter.

Rodgers claims that in the letter, Kelly said he would release “details of her sex life” and threatened to make public private text messages and photos to support his claims. Allred said the alleged letter was later posted on the now-deleted Facebook page “Surviving Lies,” which was set up to contradicting Kelly’s accusers.

Rodgers’ suit against Kelly stems from a complaint filed with the Dallas Police Department in April 2018. In the complaint, Rodgers alleged that the 12 Play artist had physically and sexually abused her during the course of their eight-month relationship.

But according to TMZ, earlier this month, authorities declined to press charges against Kelly in her case.

Rodgers was one of the many women featured in Lifetime’s explosive Surviving R. Kelly documentary. Since it aired, Kelly’s lawyer Steve Greenberg has denied all allegations of his client’s sexual misconduct. And speaking to Rolling Stone,  Greenberg also disputed the authenticity of the letter.

I have just seen the ‘letter,’” Greenberg told the outlet. “It obviously was not authored or signed by Mr. Kelly, nor sent on his behalf. He doesn’t write letters.”
