Report: Chris Brown to sue rape accuser for defamation
ABC/Randy HolmesChris Brown is allegedly gearing up to take legal action against the woman who’s accused him of raping her in a Paris hotel room, TMZ has learned.
Brown’s French lawyer, Raphael Chiche, told TMZ that his client adamantly denies the allegations and plans to challenge them in court.
“Chris Brown is free. No lawsuits were filed against him,” Chiche said in a statement to the website. “He vigorously challenges the charges against him. A complaint for slanderous denunciation will be filed tomorrow with the public prosecutor of Paris.”
As previously reported, the “Undecided” crooner was arrested on Tuesday in Paris after an unidentified woman filed a complaint which claimed that Brown and two other men had sexually assaulted her in a hotel room. Brown has since been released from police custody and at present does not face any charges.
Shortly after the ordeal, the singer addressed the allegations head on.
“I wanna make it perfectly clear……. This is false and a whole lot of c[r]ap!,” Brown wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post.
“For my daughter and my family this is so disrespectful and is against my character and morals!!!!!”
According to TMZ, Brown is free to leave the country, but an official investigation regarding the alleged incident is reportedly still taking place.
