Sources tell WWD that LVMH, the French conglomerate that owns brands such as Moet, Hennessy and Louis Vuitton, have been secretly negotiating a partnership with Rihanna. LVMH has reportedly also handpicked employees from within the company, including workers from the Celine and Louis Vuitton lines, to work with Rih on the project.
If the partnership is confirmed, the line would be the first brand to launch from scratch under the LVMH umbrella since Christian Lacroix in 1987.
While details about the line are scarce, Rih’s luxury fashion house will reportedly include ready-to-wear clothing, accessories and leather goods.
The project will represent yet another foray into the world of fashion for the singer, who recently served as the creative director of Puma, and has struck gold with her Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty lines of makeup and lingerie, respectively.
In other news, the “Work” chart topper is currently embroiled in a legal dispute with her father, Ronald Fenty, for attempting to exploit her Fenty brand for his entertainment company.
